How did I get here? How do I get out?

I recently returned from vacation and I definitely did some damage. LOL. I never really do"treat" meals (I don't like the word "cheat," because it insinuates that you are in the wrong and I believe it creates a distorted view of food)....Any-who, while I was gone, we ate at restaraunts everday and I tried to eat as healthy as I could. I still worked out consistently and took all my supplements, etc. But in that short amount of time, just taking a few days off from my schedule, eating habits, and regular patterns really messed with me both psychologically and physically.

This really got me thinking about people's habits and lifestyles, but also WHY it is so hard to change. Everyday, I encourage people to live healthier lives by eating the right food and exercising. But it is so much more than a habit. It is in the MIND, that is where the battle is. Above all you must DECIDE what you want and how far you are willing to go till you reach it.

Every thing you put in your mouth, every time you skip the gym, all the Reese's cups that magically found their way into your belly did so by your CHOOSING.

*The first step is believing that you power of your life and decisions. Everything else flows from that. You must say "yes' or "no" to everything that you do. What is your answer? And will your answer and actions get you to where you wish to be?

In love, Christ, and Health

Why I am who I Am...

I am constantly being asked by others, where I find my motivation and how I stay on track. I very seldom eat unhealthy foods, I exercise most everyday, and to many people it is confusing how/why a 24 year old is so strict and rigid when it comes to health.

I view the health and my body different than most, which is why I am who am. I see my body as a home that God owns. One for which I must take care of. He pays the rent and owns the furniture, but has given me the keys and expects me to take care of His property...Everything I do whether good or bad represents Him, if I really am His property. Every bad choice is me choosing an option to damage that which He gave me to care for. Every good choice is me choosing to honor Him and what He entrusted me with.

My motivation is not skin deep. It reaches beyond what you can see and it connects to Someone much greater than I. That is why I am able to do it, day after day. If it was just about me, I would have given up long before...BUT IT'S NOT ABOUT ME. It's about HIM.

"Don't you realize that your body is a sacred place, the place of the Holy Spirit? Don't you see that you can't live however you please, squandering what God paid such a high price for?

The physical part of you is not some piece of property belonging to the spiritual part of you. God owns the whole works. So let people see God in and through your body." 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
